For security purposes, most of Mascot Engineering Access Covers and Grates & Frames are fitted with steel or stainless steel hold-down bolts.

The size, material and style of bolt varies between products based on the size of the product and any specific requirements in industry and Australian standards.  These bolts require a tool or key to open, slowing down the opportunistic however they don’t prevent unauthorised access.

For projects requiring a much higher level of security such as correctional facilities, government agencies as well as data centres, there are a number of security style bolts with unique head patterns requiring custom keys that can be fitted to Mascot access covers and grates & frames.  An example of which can be seen below.

In addition to this, we have a range  GMS Checkerplate covers that suit our GRC Pits that have the provision for a padlock.  Known as the Z-Lock, these covers also suit a SCEC endorsed padlock (Security Construction & Equipment Committee).  More information can be found here .
