On-site Stormwater Detention Systems (OSD) is different on every project. OSD tanks capture stormwater on your site and control the flow to the local council stormwater system. Using pits, tanks or surface depressions as storage devices to temporarily store stormwater prior to discharge ensures that the Council’s drainage system is not overwhelmed in major storms… essentially, stormwater management.

OSD and Detention Control Pits (DCP) have become necessary due to the increased density of developments and particularly the increase in hard surfaces such as paving, additions, carports and garages on existing dwellings. Onsite Detention doesn’t decrease the amount of stormwater, it simply slows its flow during peak discharge to match the capacity of the existing drainage system.
