Fire Rated System | Mascot Engineering

Some projects may require a cover that is fire rated. To achieve a fire rating, a barrier must be installed under the access cover which protects against heat, smoke, fumes and of course flames. Mascot Engineering developed a fire rating system to work in conjunction with our single, two, three and multipart cover systems many years ago and have continually developed and improved the system since.

A 2 hour fire rating (AS1530) is most commonly required, however higher ratings are available should your project call for it. When fitted, the fire rated system will reduce the clear opening slightly in both directions and we recommend you engage our technical team in the early stage of your specification planning to ensure a compatible system is installed.
