The $20m upgrade to the Shellharbour Airport will support the planned growth in aircraft traffic to the facility, including that of larger regional jets operating to and from Brisbane and Melbourne as well as other regional centres. The development includes surface work to runways, the inclusion of runway lighting, additional aircraft parking as well as a new terminal building and the beginnings of a business park.
With the increase in aircraft traffic and parking as well as a resurfaced runway, it was imperative that all rainwater be collected quickly and efficiently whilst being strong enough to handle the expected load rating both now and in the future.
Mascot Engineering’s heavy duty Class G range of trench grating was chosen for the project. The featured grate and frame has a clear opening of 300mm ensuring efficient collection of stormwater, and is fitted with a bolt down facility to ensure the grates remain in position.
All Mascot Class G Grates come fitted with our patented leveling system to ease installation and are designed and tested to an ultimate load rating of 900kN as per AS3996:2019.
