Precast bollards adding protection to pedestrians and cyclists on new Sydney CBD Cycleways
In response to public transport systems reaching capacity during peak periods and the ongoing need for all to maintain social distancing, The City of Sydney are creating new spaces for people to walk and ride to free up space on public transport and roads.
The new walkways and cycleways are important links to allow for safe traveling and commuting to schools, workplaces, health care and the city centre. These improvements aim to assist the community’s effort to return to work and local businesses – supporting our local economic recovery.
There are 6 new pop-up cycleways, in key commuter areas leading to the city centre, the pictures here are from the Pitt Street pop-up which incorporates space for walking as well as bicycles.
Mascot Engineering’s precast concrete cube bollards have been installed along the cycleway to increase safety to its users. These bollards can be seen throughout the CBD, particularly along the light rail route down George Street.
Manufactured locally, we have the capability to produce custom bollards to suit your requirements.
