NSW Cricket Centre of Excellence will be a new facility located in Sydney’s Olympic Park thanks to the contributions of both Federal and State Governments as well as Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW.
The new facility will be the home of cricket in NSW, and provide year round access to training and administration to players of all levels.
Key features of the new development include: main and secondary ovals, gym, 50 outdoor turf practice nets, a 15 lane indoor facility, changerooms, a gym, a rehabilitation and recovery centre, and a cafe.
Series of Mascot GRC Cable Pits were required to accommodate the electrical network for the new facility. These were coupled with both Concrete Encased Cast Iron Covers, and also Solid Top Cast Iron Covers. A number of Pits were installed beneath the pitch area, so Solid Top Covers were used in order for the Pits to be detectable if required.
The NSW Cricket Centre of Excellence will be constructed in two stages, with the first stage due for completion by March 2022.
