Kepnock State High School recently underwent an upgrade to their Main Switch Board as part of the QLD State’s Governments $220M Renewing Our Schools program.
The commitment by the Palaszczuck Government is designed to create hundreds of jobs for trades across the state. This work is intended to improve school facilities such as creating outdoor learning spaces, upgrading recreation areas and attending to repairs and maintenance needs.
Pulse Electrical chose to use Mascot Engineering Glass Reinforced Concrete Pits due to the ease of installation. The contractor was able to easily create pipe entries directly on site, rather than requiring pre-core drilling to be arranged. This flexibility is one of the key benefits of working with Mascot GRC for such installations. See photos of pits during installation. The project also required Mascot Class D Solid Top Covers, completing the installation of the cable enclosures servicing the Main Switch Board upgrade.
Mascot GRC is designed for the installer. GRC is reinforced throughout, so no need for steel frame reinforcement, creating a lighter weight Cable Pit (approx. 10% the weight of a traditional precast pit) that’s cost effective and easy to install. Additionally, pipe entries can be made in any location of the pit during installation, which was a key benefit to this particular installation.
See GRC Cable Pits and Solid Top Covers for more information on the products used on the Kepnock State High School upgrade.
