The Darwin River Dam’s New Pump Station project is a critical infrastructure upgrade to improve water supply reliability for the Darwin region.
The Darwin River Dam site experiences extreme weather conditions, including high temperatures, heavy rainfall, and flooding. These environmental factors demanded robust, durable materials to ensure safety, longevity, and minimal maintenance. As part of the project, Mascot Engineering was selected to supply large 1200mm sq GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) pits and Class D 1200mm sq access covers, designed to withstand the demanding environmental conditions and heavy traffic loads at the dam site.
Mascot Engineering’s GRC pits provide a lightweight yet highly durable solution that could be easily transported and installed at the remote location. Mascot GRC pits offer high resistance to chemicals, and environmental wear, making them an ideal choice for a challenging setting like Darwin River Dam. Additionally, the Class D access covers offer a full 1200mm square clear opening to the pits allowing for easy access to the cable joints whilst withstanding the heavy vehicle loads and equipment used at the pump station site.
