Segmented Coreworx Joint Bay – Patent
Innovation – Certified Innovation Patent The Coreworx Segmented Joint Bay
Innovation. Advancement. Refinement. Progress.
These aren’t the words often associated with boxes. However, Mascot Engineering place significant value on product development and improvement.
Our most notable product development was the Mascot GRC Pit in the early 1980’s. Taking this new and unique Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) material concept and developing a range of drainage and electrical pits was the largest innovation in the Australian underground pit segment at the time and we would probably argue that it remains the most significant in the industry.
Coreworx Segmented Joint Bay
The Coreworx Segmented Joint Bay was developed in response to clients’ needs to reduce time and disruption on site constructing and installing HV/LV cable joint bays needed for energy infrastructure. Whilst smaller units could be precast and shipped to site easily, larger units came with significant costs due to their weight. The crane size required for these as well as access to the excavation became costly and logistically unfeasible. This was magnified as the industry desired larger joint bays to keep up with the demand for power upgrades.
Coreworx Segmented Joint Bays quickly became with preferred product for Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Systems Connect, Essential Energy and other energy infrastructure providers.
Coreworx & Mascot Engineering
Several years ago, the Intellectual Property of Coreworx Australia was acquired by Mascot Engineering and today, the Coreworx Segmented Joint Bay is owned and manufactured by Mascot Engineering.

The granting of a certified innovation patent gives you:
- Exclusive commercial rights to your invention — a monopoly in the market

Exclusive Rights
Manufacturing, selling, installing… all possible infringements.
Certification of a patent by IP Australia recognises the innovation and ensures the design cannot be used by third parties without our permission and when purchasing or installing a segmented joint bay from Mascot Engineering you know that the product is backed with our guarantee with regards to performance and adherence to standards.
Below you’ll find our Certificate of Examination accompanied by an extract from IP Australia noting that the manufacturing, selling, exhibiting of a product or the offer to do so without authorisation could be found by a Court to be an infringement.
This certification also notes that the acceptance of a tender and/or installing of a work bay by a company other than Mascot Engineering that includes a work bay covered by our patent could be found by a Court to be an infringement of the patent and the company/person would be liable for installing a work bay that breached a Certified Patent.
