More Trains, More Services Trench Grating

Transport for Tomorrow is a partnership between Laing O’Rourke, KBR and Transport for NSW to deliver rail infrastructure projects in NSW under the More Trains More Services (MTMS) program as well as various train station and rail upgrades in Sydney and the South Coast.

The multi-billion-dollar NSW Government program is well underway and Mascot Engineering products have been used on a number of sites, however this one is a little different to our normal product.  Given the proximity to the rail line, the engineer specified a traditional steel reinforced precast concrete drainage channel and GMS Grate be installed.  Our custom precast team worked with the client to manufacture a 300mm clear opening channel paired with our standard 300mm galvanised Class D Trench Grate & Frame.

This product solution allows the contractors to quickly and easily install the channel with minimal disturbance to the infrastructure and without need to form-up and pour concrete on site. This has been especially helpful given the recent rain seen in NSW that has slowed down many construction sites.
